Making a will makes a lot of sense. It is straight
forward, inexpensive and gives you peace of mind about
the future.
Without a will, there can be a lot of unnecessary difficulty
and heartache. Strict laws dictate what happens to
your estate with potentially dramatic consequences.
For example, your spouse could be forced to sell your
home to divide up your estate. Or it could pass to
the hands of some distant relative instead of the
people important to you.
In your will, you can clearly express your wishes about:-
- Your choice of executor
- Who should act as a legal guardian for your children
and how you will provide for your dependants
- How you would like your funeral to be conducted
- Whether you want to donate your organs or leave
your body to science
- Mitigate inheritance tax
- Providing for pets or charities
- Stating who you wish to receive the various parts
of your estate e.g your house, money, valuable
and sentimental items
As your circumstances alter, it is easy to change the
provisions in your will. You can make simple amendments
by adding a codicil or re-writing the will.

Probate
We can help the person responsible for administering
an estate following someone's death. We can either
deal with the full administration on behalf of an
executor, (when a grant of probate is obtained) or
advise the next of kin (when a grant of letters of
administration is obtained).
- Our help and advice would include:
- Valuation of the estate assets
- Application for the grant of probate or letters
of administration
- Collection of the estate assets
- Settlement of tax (if any)
If you would like help, we will explain financial documents
belonging to the deceased such as bank statements,
passbooks, savings certificates, insurance policies
etc., the house deeds and any outstanding bills and
resolve the problems that arise in sad and emotional
times with consideration and understanding and a minimum
of fuss.
